Wow Day 64! I haven’t started today’s reading yet but I am caught up as of yesterday.
You asked what has been the secret to our success- wow all I can say is grace and carrying my reading material ( I use the Kindle app on my ipod touch to read the Bible in 90 days Bible) I also use the NIV dramatized Audio Bible that I broke into playlists of the daily readings. I started out mainly listening to the audio (while I walked) only but now i read with the audio usually. I do find I get more when I read with audio or just read, though you get a good overview just listening and the listening is better than nothing for sure.
Having this group has helped tremendously- without the support I know myself and wouldn’t have stayed on track so thank you group!! Thank you Amy

I’m up where I should be so far! Isaiah- God doesn’t want us going through the motions-He wants our hearts

1)Job 19:25 “I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon the earth.” here in the oldest of all the books of the Bible is a prophecy about Jesus Christ coming to earth! God has revealed His plan from the beginning

2) Job was really trippy to read because it seemed like most of what Job”s friends were saying was right about God except that they assumed that Job had to have been sinning for this to happen to him but God said what they were saying about Him wasn’t true. Needing to wrestle with this more

I’d have to say that Job was the book that has impacted me most this week. It’s the one I still think about and wrestle with.  Esther’s courage and her dependence on God were inspiring and the wisdom God gave her in letting the king know about the fate of her people was so unique and perfect for her situation. It was also mind opening to think about a different culture and how women were treated and what kings could do especially after reading “Inside the Kingdom” recently about life in Saudi Arabia.

Bottom line, i still need to wrestle with Job more . I loved seeing the foretelling of Christ even in the oldest book in the Bible

Because of Him, Libby

day 36 Check in

I’m on track, though it has been hard to read the last couple of days. Really been struggling with wanting to watch a bunch of TV-just being real here- since my diverticulitis attack and being down for a week on pain meds, but I am hanging in there!

Hmm. How did I miss a whole day? Ahh must be the pain meds

Day 21-Check in Day

Having a diverticulitis flare -ugh but am almost finished with today’s reading. I fell asleep listening to todays while in bed so need to go back and see where I fell off!

1 Sam 15:13 When Samuel reached him, Saul said, “The Lord bless you! I have carried out the Lord’s instructions.”

14 But Samuel said, “What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears? What is this lowing of cattle that I hear?”

15 Saul answered, “The soldiers brought them from the Amalekites; they spared the best of the sheep and cattle to sacrifice to the Lord your God, but we totally destroyed the rest.”
We humans have an amazing capacity to be deceived- I have an amazing capacity to be deceived that is one reason staying in the Word is so important for me.
